So, I went and saw Maiden play a charity gig for Clive Burr MS Trust Fund at Hammersmith on 07/09/2005. The show was brilliant, the crowd - friendly and everyone had fun. It was nice to see that the guys support their former drummer in his struggle with multiple sclerosis - not many bands do it nowadays, I guess. After all, the whole Maiden thing is about music and good attitude.
It was nice to see the guys perform just 2 weeks after seeing them at Reading Festival, and giving it all to the crowd as always. I wonder how many bands nowadays have the same energy on stage as they had 20 years ago, same desire to play for their fans, productivity and commitment to music…I guess this is something a lot of new acts should learn before commiting to playing ‘rock gods’ just because they got signed. After all, music is all about music, respect for the fans, commitment and being just a musician.
