Real-time traffic information tool from RAC

Heads up for everyone travelling extensively by car in the UK – RAC has just launched its new version of traffic information service.

Built on top of Bing maps (the map provider for RAC Route Planner), the RAC traffic information service aggregates almost real-time road traffic information including road incidents around the UK and also includes ferry crossings information.

The updates show incident advisories (textual and sometimes audio) as well as road traffic cameras (where possible – mostly on motorways). Some of the traffic cameras seem to be down once in a while though – possibly for maintenance.
